GOTO Kosuke

After graduating from the Department of Industrial Design, Faculty of Art and Design at Kyushu Institute of Design, Professor GOTO joined GK Design Group Inc., where he worked on product design, signage, and interior design. At the Department of Socio-Cultural Environment Studies under the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences at the University of Tokyo, he later pursued research on the physical environment and human behavior outdoors. Some of his significant projects during his tenure include the design of the furniture and signage at the Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art and Marugame City Central Library, the project for developing a new design of the postal box, and the project for improved pedestrian signage in Sendai City.

NISHIDA Hidemi

NISHIDA earned his Master's degree from the Faculty of Fine Art at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design (now the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design at the University of Bergen) in Norway. He has exhibited his works at various international venues, including the Gwangju Biennale (2014, Gwangju, South Korea) and the Sapporo International Art Festival (2014, Sapporo). After spending time in London and Taiwan as an artist, he stayed in Moscow from 2018 to 2019 as a fellow of the Pola Art Foundation's Overseas Research Program. NISHIDA is known for his environmental installations that create dialogues between landscapes and people. Additionally, he is involved in stage design, spatial design, installation art, and performance art.

NISHIO Kana

Graduated with a major in Fine Arts from Tokyo Zokei University. After completing her graduate studies at the Tokyo University of the Arts, she has been active as an art coordinator and contemporary artist. NISHIO explores the relationships between places, objects, and people, focusing on their history, origins, transformations, and shifts in perception through her artwork and curation. Her projects include creating installations that combine video and objects, exploring “landscapes that exist only in memory,” curating exhibitions on “The art of leaving things behind” and establishing an art museum in a farming village to archive local life and culture.

SUZUKI Moeka, Ph.D.

After earning her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in the Field of Art Produce and Museum Studies at Joshibi University of Art and Design, SUZUKI completed her Doctorate in Fine Arts at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. She co-founded and oversees DAÉN, a research and publishing project dedicated to documenting and critically examining contemporary art in Japan, with a focus on fostering critical discourse and building archival resources. Her research focuses on Japanese contemporary art of the 1990s, analyzing the artistic trends of the time while engaging in exhibition curation and critical writing. Her major curatorial projects include Inherited Esthetics (2023, MITSUKOSHI CONTEMPORARY GALLERY) and Research on Röntgen Kunstinstitut (2019, Radium von Roentgenwerke AG).

YOSHIDA Mikuu

YOSHIDA obtained her master's degree from the Joshibi University of Art and Design in the field of Oil Painting Research. In addition to composing songs inspired by everyday life at her part-time job at a convenience store and the mysterious customers she encounters there, she also produces works that explore the concept of the creator through the enlargement of marionettes she originally made as a child with her father, a ball jointed doll artist. In recent years, she has focused on issues of identity, creating artworks that address the social backgrounds of women dealing with motifs of her mother and grandmother.

KOIWAI Atsuo

KOIWAI joined Tanseisha Co., Ltd. in 1985. He primarily handles spatial design for corporate clients in the business and sports entertainment sectors. His core design philosophy is to create spaces that excite visitors through entertainment. KOIWAI has worked on numerous large-scale exhibition booths for various manufacturers, including the TOYOTA booth at the Tokyo Motor Show 2007. His achievements in stadium-related projects include the renovation of the 2nd-floor concourse at Yokohama Stadium and the extensive renewal project of the concourse at MIZUHO PayPay Dome FUKUOKA.

YOKOYAMA Minoru, FIIDA

Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Pratt Institute Graduate School at New York. He held professorships on the faculty at universities in Japan, and the US, with unique educational methods. His research focus is on “the five senses of sensitivity and space relationship”. His innovative perspective is published in a book entitled: Five Senses Design Workbook, published by Shokokusha, Japan which was awarded the Good Design Award in 2013 as an educational system. His design firm designed Japan's first office design based on the concept of the five senses, and his work, which translates Japanese culture into art, is in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Ethnology. He respects the will of nature in all art and design.

ARAWATARI Iwao

Born in Tokyo. Completed a Master’s degree in Intermedia Art at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2017. Awarded the Salon du Printemps Prize. His major exhibitions include CHAOS*LOUNGE presents “Chaos*Lounge New Art Festival 2015 Dies Irae” (2015) and Neuropathy of Exposed Phantasm (2021), among others. While working as an installer at various art exhibitions, ARAWATARI also launched the experimental sales project KATAKISHI and actively works as a collective. The group's primary medium, “archived (dead) data”, as well as “materials that are nearly indistinguishable from waste”, form the core of their individual artistic interests.

ISHIHARA Ko

Focusing on the theme of “The Possible Internet,” ISHIHARA creates and develops various works and systems while exploring new perspectives on avatars and the potential of digital communities. He is recognized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications as an Innoβ (officially acknowledged as a unique individual by the ministry). He was selected as an artist for the Ars Electronica 2019 Future Innovators Summit. Additionally, he received the Kuma Foundation scholarship for creators (4th and 5th terms) and is a researcher at the Keio SFC Research Institute. His notable awards include the runner-up prize at the WIRED Creative Hack Award 2021, the special prize at the same award in 2018, and the Jury Special Award at the Campus Genius Contest 2019.

UNNO Rintaro

Born in Tokyo in 1992, artist. In recent years, his work has focused on exploring the relationship between media and humans, society and individuals, while questioning how one can depict what they believe in and perceive. His major activities include solo exhibitions at EUKARYOTE and Ginza Tsutaya Books, as well as participation in Phantasmapolis – 2021 Asian Art Biennial (National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts) as part of the duo Dan Isomura + Rintaro Unno. As Katarushisu no Kishibe, they have held a solo exhibition at the Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Museum of Contemporary Art and created and installed public art in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Since 2023, they have served as the exhibition director for Matsudo International Science Art Festival.

KITAJI Nana

Graduated from the Graduate School of Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts, majoring in Film Production (Art Directing Course). After studying architecture and stage design in Japan, Europe, and North America, she entered the world of production design for films. In 2020, she founded Studio Nordla. As a production designer, she works on art direction and set decoration for various visual works, including films, dramas, commercials, and music videos. Her notable works include the music video for Macaroni Empitsu's “PRAY.” (the official theme song for the 95th Senbatsu Spring Koshien), the film “MIRRORLIAR FILMS” (directed by Asami Mizukawa), the drama “Suitcase Journey” (HOKUOH KURASHI NO DOUGUTEN), "A new discovery! KOBAYASHI Asami

Graduated from the Concentration in Environmental Design at Joshibi University of Art and Design. After working in an architectural firm, Kobayashi became a Research Associate in Environmental Design at Joshibi University of Art and Design. In 2015, she received the Joshibi Milano Award and underwent a one-year training program at Migliore+Servetto Architects in Milan, Italy. Since 2016, she has been an Adjunct Instructor at Joshibi University of Art and Design, while establishing moca design. Specializes in spatial design and planning. SUGIYAMA Yuko

Graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design with a degree in Design. After working as a designer at Tanseisha Co., Ltd., an assistant at Joshibi University of Art and Design, and a creative director at an IT company, she is currently a part-time lecturer at Joshibi University of Art and Design, head of her own office, and a regional coordinator for a school support organization. TAKAHASHI Yusuke

Born in 1992. Graduated from Keio University SFC and completed his graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. His work encompasses video, VR, and installations using 3DCG. TAKAHARA Mao

Graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design with a degree in Design in 2013 and completed her graduate studies at Japan Women's University in 2015. From 2015 to 2018, she worked at Space Research Institute Co., Ltd. Since 2018, she has been a part-time assistant in the Department of Housing Studies at Japan Women's University. Since 2021, she has been a part-time lecturer in Environmental Design in the Department of Design and Crafts at Joshibi University of Art and Design. TAHARA Mayumi

Graduated from the Spatial Design Course in the Design Department of Joshibi University of Art and Design. She worked at the Landscape Engineering Research Institute, engaging in public design projects such as bridges and parks. After serving as an assistant at Joshibi University, she co-founded Designer’s Workshop YAJU, a group of multidisciplinary designers specializing in architecture, graphic design, video, and spatial design. Since 2010, she has been freelancing, focusing on space design, graphic design, advertising, and design direction, particularly in creating spaces that utilize lighting effects. Her expertise includes CI planning, sign planning, and facade design for medical facilities such as animal hospitals and dental clinics. Additionally, she regularly hosts art and design workshops in the community.

TSUJIMURA Ryoko

Architecture and Design Editor. Graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design with a major in Western Painting (Oil Painting) in the Department of Fine Arts. MAEDA Naname

MAEDA is active as a playwright, director, and actor with the Theater Company Norabou, based in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. He frequently stages performances in non-theater spaces, having performed in locations such as station squares, building rooftops, bars, parks, and even private homes. Additionally, Maeda is producing the “tent theater” using a portable tent structure. His creative process prioritizes conceptual development, always maintaining an awareness of the relationship between the performance environment, space, and real-world elements. Beyond playwriting, he also focuses on stage design and puppet-making.

YOKOYAMA Ayano

Dancer / Choreographer. Born in Nagano Prefecture. YOKOYAMA explores a unique movement style focused on sensory perception. Her work captures overlooked moments of reality, bringing forth the spontaneous and unintentional expressions unique to dance. In 2016, she founded lal banshees and has since presented works both in domestic and internationally. She received the Grand Prix at Yokohama Dance Collection 2020 and the 16th Japan Dance Forum Award. also selected as a Saison Fellow I by the Saison Foundation for the 2021–2025 term.

YOKOYAMA Yoko

Born in Yamaguchi. Graduated from the Institute of Innovation Musashino Art University Graduate School. Completed and engaged in the Experience Design Summer Course at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. Her in-depth research ranges from the five senses, art and spatial ideas both in Japan and overseas. Ms. Yokoyama is winner of the German iF Design Award 2014 for ‘awaseru’ ring. She is currently active as a creative navigator, awakening primitive memories through the five senses with her project “You are what you feel!”
